Margaret Vaughn

Margaret Vaughn graduated with a B.A. in Sociology and Women’s Studies (before we were officially known as Women’s and Gender Studies!) in May 2003.

Since then, she’s had the opportunity to work in a variety of capacities, from helping families adopt children out of the foster care system, to conducting sexual abuse prevention programming in schools, as well as recruiting young adults for an AmeriCorps program.

In 2010, she moved up north to attend New York University to earn a master’s degree in public health. Margaret says she’s happy to now be back in her hometown of Raleigh, where she currently works as a program consultant for the NC Division of Public Health in the Injury and Violence Prevention Branch.
