Dhruv Pathak

Dhruv Pathak is studying Women’s and Gender Studies and History and is planning to graduate in May 2016. He has been awarded as a Harvard Trade Union Scholar and Thurgood Marshall College Fund Scholar. When asked about what he plans to do with his experiences in WGS “in the real world,” he responded:

“I plan to be a labor organizer when I graduate from UNCG. WGS was my first real introduction into critcal analyses of oppression and liberation, the intial framework I employed, due in large part to WGS plus experience, helped me to understand the most complex intricacies of the world around us, all through the scope of wanting to change it.”

He went on to say that the WGS department is “by far the best department at UNCG” [because] “you will never find faculty who are so dedicated to furthering the field of WGS while at the same time committed fully to teaching to the best of their ability.”
