Please join WGS in welcoming Lia Garcia on Thursday, November 1, 2018 for her presentation titled “Between Transits and Genders: Performance and Affect as Social Resistance.”  This event will be held in the Maple Room, EUC from 1:30pm to 3pm.
 
This talks reflects on the relationship between performance and pedagogies of affect as ways of opposing patriarchal violence towards trans* people in México. 
 
Lia García or Lia La Novia Sirena (México City, 1989) is an internationally-renowned feminist and defender of human rights for trans* people in México City. She studied Pedagogy and Visual Arts at the National Autonomous University of México (UNAM).
